2. Core Architecture: The Hybrid Processing Model

To provide the highest level of security while maintaining powerful conversion capabilities, PDFTEQ utilizes a Hybrid Processing Architecture:

• 19 Client-Side PDF Tools & 20 Financial Calculators (Zero Uploads): For 19 of our 22 PDF tools — including Merge PDF, Split PDF, PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, PDF to JPG, JPG to PDF, PDF to Text, Read PDF Aloud (TTS/OCR), PDF to Markdown, Repair PDF, Watermark PDF, Remove Blank Pages, Add Page Numbers, Edit Metadata, Flatten PDF, Rotate PDF, Reorder Pages, Delete Pages, and Extract Pages — plus all 20 Indian Financial Calculators, processing happens 100% locally inside your browser's memory (JavaScript / WebAssembly). Your files never leave your device.
• 3 Server-Assisted PDF Tools (Encrypted Ephemeral Processing): Only three compute-intensive utilities transmit files over TLS 1.3 encryption: (1) Compress PDF (up to 100 MB, processed via our hosted Ghostscript engine), (2) PDF to PDF/A (up to 20 MB, processed via our hosted Ghostscript + veraPDF ISO 19005 validator), and (3) Word to PDF (processed via the third-party CloudConvert API under a shared daily conversion quota). Additionally, Secure Upload provides a cryptographic HMAC-SHA256 deletion-attestation demonstration.
• Strict Auto-Deletion (Zero Retention): Files processed on PDFTEQ's first-party server endpoints (Compress PDF and PDF to PDF/A) are deleted immediately upon request completion in the same HTTP lifecycle (with an automated cron fallback sweep every 30 minutes for any interrupted sessions). Files sent through Word to PDF are processed ephemerally by CloudConvert and automatically purged under CloudConvert's zero-retention API lifecycle. We never index, read, or keep backups of your document content.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We strictly limit the data we interact with. We explicitly DO NOT collect:

• Personal Identity: No names, physical addresses, phone numbers, or government IDs.
• Account Data: No login credentials or passwords (No Sign-up required).
• Document Content: No permanent storage or indexing of your PDF content.
• Student Verification: No proof of enrollment required for free access.

4. Information We May Collect Automatically

For operational security and to maintain our status as a reliable PDF editor, limited technical data may be collected via server logs:

• Technical Data: IP address (anonymized where possible), browser type, and device info.
• Usage Data: Anonymous statistics on which tools (e.g., Merge, Compress) are used most.
• Security Logs: Data used strictly to prevent DDoS attacks and abuse.

5. Cookies & Advertising

7. Data Sharing & Third-Party Processors

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data. Across our 19 browser-local PDF tools and 20 financial calculators, zero document or financial data ever leaves your browser. For our site infrastructure and the 3 server-assisted tools, limited data is processed only by the following disclosed providers under strict data-protection terms:

• CloudConvert API (Word to PDF Only): When you use Word to PDF, your .docx/.doc file is transmitted over HTTPS to CloudConvert (cloudconvert.com) solely to render the PDF and is automatically deleted after conversion.
• Google Analytics 4 (G-DY3WEGGFM4): Collects anonymized, aggregate page-view and interaction telemetry (never document contents or filenames) to help us monitor tool reliability.
• Google AdSense (ca-pub-3853491600005177): Serves advertisements to fund our free infrastructure, as detailed in our Cookie Policy.
• Hosting & Security Infrastructure: First-party server hosting and Cloudflare WAF/TLS protection for DDoS mitigation and ephemeral Ghostscript/veraPDF execution.
